KAY D. RAY

Returning to Seattle from film and video work in Vancouver, B. C. and Los Angeles, producer and director Kay D. Ray worked with her company R2K2, Microsoft Studios and was the senior film producer for Experience Music Project where she developed and created over 85 films. Her documentary on jazz great Ernestine Anderson; There Will Never Be Another You was completed for Bumbershoot 2002, aired on KCTS TV9 and was nominated for an Emmy award in 2003.

She is in post production on her feature documentary film Lady Be Good; Instrumental Women In Jazz and is currently working as film producer with Weatherhead Experience Design Group. Recent awards include; Women In Film Spirit of Nell Shipman award, short film Middle of Nowhere (Palm Springs Film Festival), Jimi Hendrix Swingin London, DJ Scratch, Northwest Jazz, Western Front, Reggae, This Is Ska, and Warm Up for EMP (American Association of Museums, local and national AFTRA, local and national Media Communications Association International), Internet Kiosk with Bill Nye for the Microsoft Museum and Microsoft Encarta English Learning Language CD ROM (International Television and Video Association and Women in Film).
